About me
Hi, I’m Sarah Need, a multidisciplinary designer based in Rutland with over 20 years’ experience creating thoughtful and engaging design for both print and digital.
I currently work as the in-house graphic designer for Firechief Global, where I develop cohesive visual communications for various platforms, including web, packaging, exhibitions, and digital campaigns and everything inbetween.
A bit about my journey
I’ve worked across agencies, freelance projects, and in-house roles, giving me a broad perspective on design challenges and how to solve them.
I believe that good design begins with understanding. Every project starts with a conversation to learn about the goals, the target audience, and what makes a brand unique.
From there, I develop ideas that link creativity with purpose. Whether working on a complete brand identity, a digital campaign, or printed materials, collaboration is vital to my process. This ensures that every touchpoint communicates the same story with clarity and impact.

Outside of work
Outside of work, I like to slow things down, listening to vinyl on a Friday night, sketching on my iPad, or cycling around Rutland’s quiet lanes (with the occasional tumble along the way!).
I love being close to nature, I have two cats who keep me company while I work, and I’m happiest when I can switch off and enjoy the simple things.
